Objective:
The overall Project objective is to provide an overview of the Companies’ procedures and technical, operational, environmental, social, and financial performance, and to form the basis for agreeing on the Companies’ restructuring objectives in the loan document (e.g. reduction in water losses, improvements in tariff collections, standards of treatment, etc.). The PIP focuses mainly on wastewater components. Total capex financing is estimated at EUR 9 million comprised of the EBRD sovereign guaranteed loan (EUR 6 million) and a capex grant of EUR 3 million.
Main activities:
› Development of an affordable, least-cost and cost-effective bankable investment program for the Company; financial analysis of the Company and preparation of financial projections;
› Determination of an efficient implementation strategy for the PIP;
› Environmental and Social Assessment (E&S Due Diligence – ESDD) of the proposed project to identify its environmental and social risks, impacts and benefits and to structure the project to comply with the ESP and PRs;
› Identify potential energy saving and materials efficiency measures (i.e. adequate sludge management / disposal solutions).
