Objective:
The objectives of the Assignment are to:
› Identify and assess any potentially significant future adverse environmental and social impacts associated with the proposed Project,
› Determine the measures needed to prevent, minimize, mitigate and compensate adverse impacts, and
› Identify potential environmental and social opportunities, including those that would improve the environmental and social sustainability of the Project
The Project focuses on construction of a Wastewater Treatment Plant with a capacity of 80,000 m³/day with the total capex amounting to about EUR 80 million.
The scope of the ESIA is commensurate with, and proportional to the potential risks, aspects and impacts of the Project, and covers, in an integrated manner, all relevant direct, indirect & cumulative environmental and social aspects and impacts of the Project, and the relevant stages of the Project cycle (e.g. design/pre-construction, construction and operation).
The ESIA was prepared in accordance with the EBRD ESP (2019) and PRs and included development of following associated documents for public disclosure:
› Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP);
› Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP);
› Non-Technical Summary (NTS);
› Resettlement Framework (RF);
› Stakeholder Engagement Plan
› The consultant also assisted the Client to carry out the public consultations and disclosure as required under the national Law to obtain the EIA approval
